Partey recognised as best African player in Spain

Black Stars player Thomas Partey has been recognized as the best African player in the Spanish La Liga for the year 2019.
A Team of Sports Writers with ESPN recognized the Atletico Madrid’s utility player for his enormous contributions to the team as one of the best in Spain and Europe.
Since Partey became a regular player for Diego Simeone’s side, he has become a stalwart in the club winning a La Liga title and also helping his team to play in the UEFA Champions League finals.
The writers wrote it’s not been a vintage 12 months for African players in La Liga, as there are fewer genuine continental superstars at the division’s biggest clubs.

However, Ghana’s Partey remains an exception and continues to be a key figure at one of the league’s genuine giants.
He’s featured 16 times already in the league this term, memorably netting a 90th-minute winner six minutes after coming off the bench against Eibar, while earning praise from Cesc Fabregas, no less, for his impeccable display in defeat against Barcelona.
The journalists also named Sadio Mane as the best African player in the English Premier League and Kalidou Koulibaly of Napoli as the best African player in Italy. For France, Nicolas Pepe then with Lille but now in England with Arsenals was the best African player.
